Duval Asphalt’s paving crews completed the 6 mile mill and resurfacing project on State Road 200 in Callahan, Florida. This project extended from Stratton Road, heading east to Griffin Road. This road is frequently traveled by heavy log trucks that previously broke down the structural integrity of the pavement. To combat future destruction, Duval Asphalt paved with a high-polymer modified asphalt mix to increase the strength and durability of the pavement. The mix was a virgin mix to reap the full benefits of the polymer. The asphalt binder was a 76-22 with added polymer.
The project scope included milling and resurfacing, base work, shoulder treatment, curb and gutters, highway signing, guardrails and other incidental construction.
