Duval Asphalt’s paving crew completed an emergency repair on the bridge deck over 5th Street in Jacksonville, Florida. Just south of the 8th Street exit on I-95, the 5th Street overpass was failing. Emergency repairs were required on the bridge, along with the roadway leading up to and after the bridge, which included four lanes and two shoulders.
Duval Asphalt’s crew milled and resurfaced the area over two nights to avoid interfering with the high trafficked area. Repairs were required on the southbound lanes only. 376 tons of FC-5 asphalt was used.
