Duval Asphalt Products, Inc. was selected by the FDOT, District 2 to begin improvements to SR5/US 1 from Nocatee to St Augustine.  This 14.4-mile-long project encompasses milling and resurfacing, earth work, shoulder treatment, drainage improvements – including the installation of 24,000 feet of pipe, curb and gutters, traffic signals, lighting, highway signing, new sidewalks, and other incidentals.

The project began February 28nd and is expected to run 450 days to completion. Most impactful to traffic will be the milling and resurfacing of the actual roadway. This will begin at Nocatee going towards St Augustine. To minimize the impact on traffic, this will be done with single lane closures in 3 mile increments. The milling operations will occur each night, Sunday through Thursday, beginning at 6 p.m. ending at approximately 3 a.m. Paving operations will occur each day, Monday through Friday, beginning at 6:30 a.m. to approximately 4 p.m. The drainage improvements will happen concurrently, in the median and northbound lanes.  Currently, we are paving one lane of SR 5/ US 1 southbound from just south of the Nocatee flyover, heading toward to the St. Augustine City limits.
