Duval Asphalt’s crew paved three sections in its fleet and heavy equipment parking lot. Each section was paved with a different asphalt mix, two fo which included Kao Specialties Americas, LLC NEWTLAC fuel resistant polymer. This parking lot was selected to pave because Duval Asphalt’s heavy equipment runs on diesel and hauls fluids and chemicals to job sites, so it can be prone to diesel, fuel and chemical spills, making this an optimal location for test strips.
The team at Asphalt Testing Solutions & Engineering (ATS) will monitor and test the effects of these liquids on the asphalt over the next three years.
