Duval Asphalt responded to a phone call at 8:00 a.m. Monday morning requesting an emergency repair on I-10 eastbound, just west of the U.S. 301 interchange in Baldwin, FL. A 5-vehicle traffic accident involved a semi-truck that hit the guardrail and overturned, spilling diesel fuel and other fluids across all eastbound travel lanes. Early estimates by FHP indicated all eastbound lanes would remain closed until 2:00 a.m. for repairs to be made.
Duval Asphalt immediately rerouted two of our asphalt crews to repair the damage and get I-10 open again as soon as possible! In total, 1,200 square yards of asphalt needed to be milled and repaved. Thanks to the quick response of our teams, I-10 was open to traffic again at 5:40 p.m. – much sooner than the 2:00 a.m. estimates! Our team rocks!
